20" or 25" shaft on a 1986 Avon SR

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I would like some advice from you guys.
I recently bought a 1986 Avon SR 5.4 m/ 17.5 footer with no motor. I was advised by the previous owner, to get a motor with a 25" shaft. My transom measures 22". I haven't been able to find what the manufacturer recommends. I'm thinking of getting a 90 hp fourstroke yamaha but not sure about what shaft size to get.
