2001 200hp Mercury Optimax Lower Unit

Noticed some gear oil in the water when recovering today. When I pulled the boat out it looks like the lower unit is cracked along the nose cone [emoji17].

A quick search shows a “optimax 135-150 v6” gearcase for sale close enough to me....
I think I remember someone saying all the v6 optimax shared the same gearcase??

Anyone care to advise if this will fit...?

There’s also an older 150 Mercury not too far away...??

Fitted a recon’d lower unit last month but never got around to adjusting the gear(shift) cable.

I installed the new unit with gear selector in forward position and with the throttle/gear control fully forward. Everything seems to be lined up and all bolts secured. I now can’t seem to shift into reverse. Had a quick look at the engine side gear cable connection.

Anyone have ideas or experience on how how to make adjustments?
I’ve had the previous lower unit off a few times for impeller changes etc. and didn’t seem to have an issue?
