2006 Honda 150 Vtec.

Hi all, I'm considering buying a Honda 150 Vtec from 2006 with 280 hrs on it.
Does anybody have any experience with this engine, ie reliability ect.
Thanks Dave.

hi Dave, we've got a similar age Honda 150 with over 1000 hours on it, so far it's been bomb proof, never misses a beat, as long as it's been serviced regularly and generally looked after I'd be happy with it only negative comment is the gauges don't seem to be very weatherproof on an open rib, we're on our third set of gauges now

Thanks Chris. your comments seem to confirm the consensus of opinion I've been hearing.
The engine has full service history, sounds & runs really sweet, so i think i'm going to buy it. Always nice to hear from someone that runs one though, thanks again, Dave.

I have owned twin Hondas since 2004 (Yamahas prior, on other RIBS) ... twin 130s then twin 115s, then twin 135s and now twin 150s. They are all great motors. I flip them every 3-4 years, 1500+ hours, I don't care what year they are, I'm usually buying similar motors to what you are asking about. low hours, year doesn't matter. These motors get up to 10,000+ hrs. I flip for reliability in business, and usually (even) keep a spare. Downtime expensive in short tourism season. www.oceanexplorations.ca
