2018 Tohatsu 9.8 2T on Ebay

This looks really tidy and a 2018 for £1300 or offers...

?

Location says 'Sale' (Manchester).

Seller has been on eBay for 20 years with 100% positive FB, has a neat garden and an Astroturf lawn.

Give the guy a break Dennis!

Big plus for me when viewing/buying from afar.

Got to agree - buy the seller and all that.

Only thing I don't like is Doel Fins and the holes left behind...

Ahh thanks for that. I was looking on a phone and did not see the location information. Quite a lot of scammers will rip off genuine pictures. This sale looks legit however. Good bargain for someone. Buy it quick if you are in the market

As a matter of interest, would the holes left by the Doel fins affect performance ?

I can't see it, just aesthetically and OCD annoying - I did buy an OB with holes in once and just plugged them.

>>>I did buy an OB with holes in once and just plugged them

The other day in the depths of the garage I came across a pair of fins I reckon would have matched those hole spacings!

As Max says... Compared to pushing the rather blunt front of the leg through water those AV plate drillings are minimal.

However I have in the past I've just pushed in rubber domed grommets from the top then the holes are almost unseen. I have also filled the holes with a Liquid Metal type filler and sprayed the whole AV plate. That repair never fell out.

Note if thinking of doing any paint on a Tohatsu 9.8 2T they are not black and a standard black spray is a poor match... the genuine Tohatsu paint is an exceptionally dark blue.

It *might* have been the one I got off you David - about 15 years ago!

Gosh I'd struggle to find that image now. Very shiny. Shame it didn't always serve you quite as well as it did us.

That's interesting. Is that white prop OE or an after market one?

White prop was OE in the"legal" days. Went over to black prop for "your business" days!

Memories eh! Have to say the old Zodiac did not look quite so nice by the time we'd abused it way beyond it's design parameters but so many happy adventures:

So anyone a bit savy with a "newer" 9.8, would be advised to paint the prop white.

Yer - before the county lines gangs send their minions out to rob white spray to protect their investments...

I've just had a mental image of some wily oldskool copper pulling a 9.8 outta the back of an overstuffed Meriva, reaching in his pocket to run an old milled edge 10p coin over the prop. His smile when white shows up is a classic "yer nicked" before the episode fades to blackscreen

Wilk, you've missed your true vocation. Scriptwriter for Channel 4, sounds like an old episode of Brookside!
