Yes that is correct a 350 V8 Out Board not out till this time next year but you might see it late 2006 on the Yamaha stand in the USA
Just how much bigger will they get and who will follow

a 400 hp proto type was used last year ( evinrude ) etec

so the guy from bombardier told me this winter
i gatherd they work 5 years prior to market

Johnson used to do a 300hp V8 many years ago - I think there were even some wankel outboards a long time ago - they would be ideal.....

It'll be the veritable 5.7ltr Chevy turned on it's end. Bullet proof but very heavy. There's a guy in Hayle, Cornwall running a Wankel Yamaha on a Narwhal, I think that's what he called it.

On holiday in Florida a couple of years ago saw a Wellcraft sportfisher32 open with a pair of V8 350hp 2 stroke evinrudes.Greedy Gets them Yanks

Hey guys, my first ever post!

I was just reading the talk on these crazy engines that Ford would think twice about adding to a Mustang, and I remember something someone at Humber once told me about weight : speed ratio.

My parents have just bought our first RIB, its a Humber Ocean Pro 7, with a beam of 2.6 metres. So a reasonable size. The thing is, its only got a 140bhp Suzuki on the back. Some of you are probably thinking "what?".

If the Suzuki 200bhp is put in its place, the difference apparently isen't worth it, simply because of the weight differece in a 4 stroke or a V6 ( I think ).

Its only been in the water once, and with the engine not run in, it still does 33 knots at 5200rpm, so when its doing 7000 whats going to happen?

So 350 V8 Outboard? Rather big maybe? Speed depends on the amount of boat in the water? Right?

Any thoughts? Im reasonably new at this, and im 16 so go easy, haha.

Btw, the RIBs awesum!

Never mind the 200 - the 250 is the same weight!!! Even better is the Evinrude ETEC 250 which is lighter again.

Great boat you have there - what a start to ribbing - take care and remember the humber is built for the rough stuff - 30kts in 8' waves is a lot more fun than 60 in a flat calm!!!
