Hi Guys,
I have a 40hp Mariner (year 2004) Its running fine but at low revs she sounds a bit rough, It will not cut out but its just running rough. at anything but low revs it runs very nice..what could this be? it has only started doing this recently...i dont think its anything big as she runs nice but just want to know what this could be and how to fix it, Cheers lads!

Best guess your carbs are gummed up. Should be a brass bolt low down on each carb, take it out and let the carb bowl drain. Refit carefully they are brass and easy to sheer.

Next run engine and spray a can of carb cleaner through the carbs. If that doesn't do it the carbs need stripping and the reeds cleaning, which is probably a dealer job.

Pete
