Can you put a set of 70 hp carbs on to a 50 hp 2 stroke Yamaha without changing anything els the 70 hp carburettor have bigger jets and the Ventura’s is bigger so are the butterfly,s

You can but probably little benefit if the engine is standard, need to be running higher RPM to justify the extra flow otherwise you lose bottom end

Hi thx I could do with another set of carburettors for my 50 hp as mine are getting a bit rough and parts are hard to come by
However I can get a set for a 70 hp I could swap the jets over from my 50 into the 70 but it’s the difference in the Ventura diameter

The question I would want answered is are the engine blocks and components identical other than the carbs? Timing curves are another thing to check. Honda seems to be that way, with the BF75 and BF90 carbs being the only difference, at least in my research.

Thx for the reply I used to run a 225 V tec Honda
Really nice engine apart from the running cost
Looked into chopping it in for a 130 hp Honda was told at the time the 150 was the same engine tweet up a bit
In the end I dint bother and sold the boat
