Never had an engine no checked in 30 + years of boating.
Dont expect the powers that be taking much notice now either

That's why I said "technically" illegal. Personally I'd take the risk, and spend the extra £100 on a brand new illegal one.

Wouldn't the only issue be with insurance? If they could find a reason not to pay they will use it.

But it's not the buyer that's taking the risk

Presumably then it's the dealer taking the risk?
& it sounds like some dealers don't care!
& no one checks!
Result!
So the punters can buy the engines the dealers make some money & everyone's happy! !
Apart from the tree huggers☺

I may be interested in a 90hp Yam if it's new for the correct money, can someone point me in the rite direction? Or PM me the dealers please?
Also, what warranty so you get?

Craig

commercial use means one year only, then you may run into problems if you are not commercial chance you take!

Have you been drinking Glen Ord (aka jet fuel)? These engines are not for sale new. Any Yammie dealer worth their salt should politely decline your business, either that or run the risk of losing their Yamaha accredited status.

There are 90s out there and occasionally they come up for sale. Bill (stand and deliver) Higham has a couple of Yammie 75hp engines which would be a good compromise.

I've sent you a link for a Mariner 90hp 2-stroke and a Suzuki 90hp 4-stroke.
