6.1 metre rib steering cable.

Hi, can someone advise me on how to get my new steering cable onto my redbay rib with diesel inboard, TAMD22P engine. I had to cut the old cable out the boat, the cable goes into the side of engine hood onto the power steering unit, the new cable can't get down and into the steering unit hole cause of the tube on rib, have let tube down but still no luck, do I have to try taking the power steering unit off and inserting the cable then attach back on.

Unbolt the power steering unit from the transom shield then you can slide it over the end of the cable and re secure both
