90 hp o/b Merc

Just bought this boat, so don't have any history on it. It stalled the other day, it started right away but only ran for a short time then stalled again.
Had to towed in. At first I thought it was out of fuel but after filling the tank it still won't start. someone told me it was a module??
Any thoughts??

First you need to find out whether it is a fuel problem , or an electrical problem. Have you got a spark at the spark plugs? If you have then you have a fuel problem. If you haven't got a spark, what is the model year of the OBM? is it a 2 st/r? Ign systems are different on the later model 2 st/rs.

It is an older 2 stroke '92 I think. I sounds like its getting fuel.
Its on a 24' pontoon boat so it is very hard to diagnose by my self.

Realistically your best bet is to have it looked at by a good merc mechanic, I had a 90 merc 2 stroke and felt far more confident with it once it had been checked over and serviced.

Just checking you don't have something simple like the air vent on the fuel tank turned off first.
