Anodes

Does anyone know where I can get a set of leg anodes for a diesel Yamaha duo-prop leg at a reasonable price (engine type Yamaha ME432 24 valve 315hp).
Yamaha want nearly £300 for a set !!!!!!

Brian, if you're ok with a drill and hacksaw you could make them. There are plenty of big, heavy anodes for sale on ebay from which you could fashion yours. A step further, if you have a source of heat you can melt zinc in a ladle, nothing more than a big spoon with with handle. Make a rough mould in sand and pour in the metal. If you have a source of moulding sand, (Does IOM have a foundry?) even better. Do you need them every year? Make wooden patterns and have a foundry cast them for you. Just thoughts given the silly cost of the replacements.

John,
Yes tried MGDuff. They only do outboard anodes. Looking really for either genuine Yamaha (at a realistic price!) or compatibles.

Jeff,
Not really looking to make my own. I am not THAT practical.
Appreciate the thought though.

Have you had a look at the American after market suppliers?

I saved over £200 on a trim motor and that included the shipping to the UK.
