If they can lift the program from the old ECU then it is a fairly simple swap - hour tops (if it's similar to the 3 pot units)

They are "waiting for a tool"... I'm sure he said it was a piston restraint ? I presumed the ECU was plug and play with a bit of programming... but then again I don't know much

So nope, not on the water this weekend... looks like I've missed the Ireland trip by a week

EMM stored info transfer has to be carried out at BRP HQ, I gather.

I'd love to mate but I make a pretty poor passenger thanks for all the invites tho, really appreciated... Its something I've always wanted to do, so I'll wait till its fixed then give it a go... I'm just glad the fault happened the last trip out diving locally rather than half way across the Irish Sea !

We'll see next week whether she comes out of hibernation trouble free or not.
Just read through this thread, I haven't been on for a while.

Surely not? I mean, it's an outboard, designed to be used in a corrosive marine environment ... so anything electrical must be waterproof otherwise it would go green and furry just in the salt atmosphere within about 3 months, used or not.

I've always tried to use my boats at least monthly through the winter, just had Seawolf out the other day for the first run since March and I just winterized it (so easy, took me longer to remember where the hell to find it in the menus than it did to run the routine) and I was about to lay it up for the rest of the winter in the new garage I've just built, but I wonder now!
