Aquos easymate or the like

Its an Outboard Dolly that wheels into your car boot.

These seem to not be available anymore, pitfalls anyone who had one here?

I'm looking for lockdown projects and I thought this might be something worth making.
I have a trolley already that I can load the outboard in and out of the tailgate with but it requires you to lift the outboard off the trolley clamps to fit on the boat transom.
These eastmates allow you to only have to lower the outboard clamp to the transom.
I see that with the engine weight high up it may be slightly unstable unless the wheels are spaced further apart, also the outboard needs reverse selecting before moving or its likely the clamp may move to shallow drive or full tilt.
Thoughts anyone?

How heavy is the outboard? Can’t help but think it would have been a hell of a lot quicker just to pick it up and chuck it in the boot if not stupidly heavy.

Perish the thought of "chucking" any outboard in my boot, it may get scratched. This is for outboards up to 20HP and as you get older they get heavier & harder to move about. You get to a point where you need to take advantage of anything that makes your life easier.

Yep for a 20hp I get it. That must be 50kg or so?

The 8hp Chinese thing in the video looked a lot lighter

Never had one, but I can see a major pitfall - it's bloody big!

I bought one of these, not managed to use it in anger yet, but it’s a nice bit of kit.

Hi Dave,
Similar to the OB trolley that I use, apart from mine is chepo mild steel not quality expensive SS.

A few things to note when you use it:-

Make sure the skeg is well seated in the slot on the lower arm.
Inflate the tyres so they are at the maximum pressure (tends to wallow if you don't)
Don't go across any slopes, the axle width isn't wide enough to take a top heavy load across any slope.

Without doubt it is a useful bit of kit. Used it a lot last year when I was loading the OB into the truck and when I beach launched on soft sand.
