Average speed?
Hi.
Been out on the boat today and had a bit of a play in some lovely calm conditions, which as got me thinking about what speeds I should be getting?
At WOT, and a fair bit of time (25min journey)I only managed 25knts(measured on a Garmin 451)with tiny adjustments being made to the trim.
I'm running a 2003 suzuki Df50 on a 4.5m Avon Adventure, there were two crew and a little extra luggage (50ltrs fuel, 25kg sand bag in bow locker, 6kg anchor+chain). I also use outboard fins, to help low speed handling.
Does this sound about right? I am interested in buying a s/s prop, but only if I can get a noticeable change in top end speed. (i.e 4 to 5 knts)
