AVON 320 JET won't start ( Yamaha )

Hi,

I had a little mishap with my AVON 320 Jet RIB. I sucked a ski rope in the intake . I stopped the engine immediately, but later started the engine again, thinking it wouldn't do any bad in neutral, and maybe I could untangle the rope going in reverse...bad thinking...

Well I guess the jet doesn't really have a neutral and I only heard some grinding noises ( if I remeber right).

Out of the water I cut out the ski rope, but now the engine will not start any more. Doesn't even make any sound.

I am planning on trying to find a fix it myself this weekend, but I am very new to RIB / boating and I am overall not the best mechanic...
. Just purchased the used RIB 2 weeks ago and didn't set up a repair fund jet time to change that!
I assume the starting motor went bad, but if anyone has any pointer in what to look out for it would be greatly appretiated.

The engine is actuall a Yamaha 700Cc like in a Yamaha Waverunner XL700 Jetski

Regards

Mike

maybe i can help you

hello

try too remove the sparkplugs and look if you can turn the engine by hand
if so there is nothing stuck behind the impellor anymore

you can also look at the fuses maybe the fuse of the starter solenoid is melted
because of the locked engine

if not put on the + Terminal Directly too the starter if it starts
you have a bad solenoid

good luck
