Ballistic propeller on SR 5.4 /YAM 90?

Anyone tried a ss Ballistic with above combo? The K series works reasonable well but grip is not the best. Little more bow lift would not hurt either.

Now running the 19 inch K , but for heavy loads the 17 K is not bad. Ballistic is available in 17 and 19 inch pitch, now wondering if the 19 would be too steep?

On the other hand the engine is installed little low(cav plate even with the keel line) using a ss prop assume it benefit from a slightly higher position.

Thanks for comments

Have & tried both - the 19 and the 17 Ballistic on the 5.4 with 90hp Yammi .
With only me and 90l fuel in the boat ,quiete heavy & big Osprey console , A-bar, the flooding hull open the boat feels with the 19 a bit sluggish before on plane and once it is on plane far less responsive on throttle in comparison with the 17 . Only advantage - fuel consumption on plane was lower .
With the 17 the boat almost jumps out of the water and is very responsive and fun to drive !
Motor is mounted quiete high in the 3rd hole but no problems with ventilation .
Currently I have a 17 K series steel prop mounted which does the job also well !
Exact rpm´s I cannot tell you anymore - I tested it more than a year ago .

Thanks, that was little what I suspected, we need a 18 inch pitch...How do You consider the
K 17 SS compared to K17 alu one, often ss props act like the pitch would be little higher than on as similar pitch alu one?

The 18 pitch SS prop is already @ home waiting to be tested
My motor came with an 19 pitch alu prop . Biggest difference I could see is that this prop has the tendency to suck air with the current engine height setting . This one is my spare prop now ..
I installed Boyesen reeds last year on my Yamaha and I am impressed how the motor performs whole shots and how much better the throttle response is !
Beside of the 18 pitch prop I will also test once more the 19 pitch Ballistic !

Sounds like You also starts to become a prop collector! I have a 19 black max still in the box that I forgot to test last summer, they are usually pretty good(for alu ones).

Lets exchange results at some stage. Here will be no boating for a while, sea is totally covered by ice, looks like it will be a long winter....

18 SS is probably a bit steep-I'd expect a 17" SS to be about right. Running a 17" SS Michigan Wheel on mine got me the same WOT RPM as the 19" K series. More acceleration, but slightly down on top speed (1 knot or so)
