Baystar steering only turns left

My Baystar steering had not been moved in a while, and now turning right the wheel just turns freely, left it behaves as normal.
Occaisionally if you turn right, wheel turns for half a turn before 'biting' and then ram moves normally.

Fluid level is good. Is this the non-return valves sticking - if so is this an easy diy fix?

Could be a stuck valve in the helm. Or an airlock.
