Matt, did you ever complete your exhaust cross pipe mod? Did it work as expected and perform as you'd hoped?

Hey jw.

It is still "in progress". I ended up needing to do a bunch of work on the landrover which has culminated in "while I'm doing this, I should really do that too"....it's 33 years old and needs a bit of work doing. Hadn't really done anything to it for a decade. Trying to get it to 40 years on the original chassic "just because".

So once the LR is back together - with a rebuilt bulkhead, new gearbox, respray, rear seats and a bucket load of other jobs, then I will switch back to the boat.

Do you still have my mother's old Discovery - M199 GPD? I see it's still got an MOT on it, certainly.

A rusty Rangerover is indeed a labour of love... but you need some boat love too!

No, don't have the Disco. Passed it on to a friend a good few years ago, chassis and body still good, dash curled up the way they do, still engine vibration but he smartened it up and sold it on for a profit. Remarkable it's still about.

I'm sad to note that jw hasn't posted on rib.net for a year now and hasn't replied to PMs either. IIRC he retired in about 2004 or so - so the likely conclusion is fairly obvious. But if you're looking down on us from above jw, the exhausts are done at long last.
