Buying an outboard.

Been looking to buy a outboard of around 115 hp for some months. I found a nice one on boats & outboards did the emails got the pictures tried to do the deal to be told by HSBC suspicius account avoid. Emailed other advertisers but as soon as I insisted on collecting & paying on collection the contact disappeared. Found a great site with just the engine which was also advertised on ebay with good feedback. Contacted the seller, did the deal, paid( by debit card BIG MISTAKE) & waited for it to arrive. & waited, contacted seller, problems with delivery company, building work, needed to test engine but no forklift, too wet............You've guessed it Dan Cooper aka outboardmotorseurope ltd one of his many names/business descriptions, been at it for years according to the threads on here. Big site on Apolloduck also appears on Ebay under various guises. I joined ths organisation to warn others as it warned me. Took me 6 months to get my money back, I've been very lucky others haven't.
OUTBOARDMOTORSEUROPE OF SOHAM. Avoid at all costs. Has anybody got knowledge of a reasonably priced outboard @ 115 hp please. Inbox me if you have but I must see it running & collect it myself. Older but wiser !!

Looks like I may have a 2004 Mercury 115 EFI 4 stroke now too. Low hours. Complete with choice of side mount or top mount controls, gauges (rev, trim,). It was just fitted to a 21ft centre console we had in but it's now coming back off due to a boat issue.

I'll know more early next week if it's definitely coming off or not.

Price £3,995

Found a Mariner 115hp longshaft on Ebay & bought it for reasonable money with all the cables remotes etc. Fingers crossed it'll get me powered up for the this season including two weeks on the Mull of Kintyre in August with the family. Thanks for the replies, if I manage to save a few pennies I'd like to upgrade this winter when prices are more within my budget.

Fantastic campsite at Carradale, direct access onto the beach. Log cabin for us, tent for the kids. Had a week there last year with alternate days fishing/watersports. Caught loads of mackerel. When I suggested two weeks this year imagine my surprise when 'the management' thought that was a good idea. Lovely beach, views & people plus a boat. My idea of heaven, if the sun puts in an appearance it'll be a big bonus !!!

just back from portavadie and had the boat in the marina ( it is stunning and maybe the best in Scotland) which is just a few miles round the corner on loch fyne. It is well worth a visit and even more so if you eat there.
