Choosing a prop, noobie questions

Hi guys!

I've been searching for some info, but haven't found anything. I would like to know the basics of choosing props, what works for which application, and what doesn't.

My motor is a Yamaha outboard 4 stroke 60hp. Boat is 4.9m long, and pretty light. Any suggestions? Do you guys "upgrade" your props from stock?

Its really just a question of buying the correct size for your boat/engine/load combination.

have a read of this to get a bit of understanding. There is a huge selection to choose from but the field can quickly be narrowed down.

Have you got a prop already that you are using?

It's worth asking around to see if you can borrow any props for trial purposes before you buy anything. Something I'd like to do if only I could find someone with some spares ......
