Clamshell coolant pressure?

Anyone ever measured it with a gauge?

If so, what sort of numbers were you seeing @ idle & wot?

RIBase
Personally I havent but going on what I can find its 2 psi at idle and around 12-15 psi at WOT.

Im looking for a pressure gauge at the minute. A 0-15 psi is the one apparently.

There is a load of info on iBoats, the Yanks love their Clamshells...

http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=4

Their search facility is a cracker.

Yes I have a marine pressure gauge and the figures are pretty low at tick over, i think at 3K RPM its still 0nly around 5psi and at WOT its above this by maybe not much.

Hope this helps

Thanks DJ

Thanks guys,

I also trawled, but the best I could find (on numerous places) was "a 0-30PSI gauge will be fine". I did think that sounded high based on the telltale....

Granted Iboats & dial-up is a bad combo, so I may have missed those threads.
