Compressor problem on Volvo KAD32 (Help)

Any body out there that has or knows about the Volvo KAD 32. We have a problem with the trip (Automatic fuse) it keeps on tripping everytime the boat is running on the compressor, this then shuts off the compressor, rev counter and heater gauge and the engine wont turn off using the key. We keep resetting the switch but within about 20 seconds of running again with the compressor it trips out again.

Tha problem apears to be the compressor, the switch or the electromagnetic coupling which controls the compressor.

We have had someone have a quick look at it and they reckon the compressor should not be run for long periods, its not done this before and would seem pretty much impossible to run without the compressor being on. It cuts in at about 1500 rpm and goes off again at about 2500rpm. That woul mean anything from abot 8knts to about 20knts

Any one got any suggestions, would be much appreciated.
