Consumption

An issue that seems to keep cropping up is consumption.

I have a 5m with 50hp 4 stroke, havn't really had chance to test the boat on a long cruise at constant revs. But plan to do some distance this year.

I carry one x 25 litre currently (aft), with the ability to carry another 25l aft and 25l up forward - Giving me 75l (17Gallons) if i need it. Ideally would carry 50l.

Any one else out there with 5m 50hp 4 stroke, what do you get consumtion wise?

Jahno

We did RB4 in 5M with 50 4 stroke (Suzuki) and carried 5X 22l fuel tanks plus a larger built in 65l tank. On the small tanks fuel changeovers became very predictable at 1hour 15 to 1hour 20 mins, covering around 30 to 35 miles per changeover to reasonable to good conditions, dropping to less than 20 miles in big head seas. You should get better carrying less weight.
