Converting to elec start and PTT??

I've done a search and can't find it anywhere so here goes.

I have an old 4M Searider which has an old Mariner 40hp on the stern with manual start and manual Tilt & Trim. I want to know how difficult it would be (if it's even possible) to convert it.

Any info/ideas would be helpful.

Mike

Hi Mike

Louise graciously posted a link to a previous thread about this very question.....in essence the answer to your question is not a simple one, firstly though i have absolutely no idea how you'd go about converting to electric start, but the PTT issue i've looking into, you can buy kits to convert your engine to PTT but the cost and the agro involved are not worth it or a 40hp engine, i managed with a 50 for 18 months.

If its one of the newer ones you can get an elecrtic start conversion kit, how old is the engine?

Louise,
Thank you but that doesn't really help, I think what I am really looking for is some practical input, ie someone who has done it.

BR,
You might be right and I may end up leaving as is. This is the first RIB that I have owned rather than jumping in and helming and have some plans to make it mine.

T,
No idea of age this was a "look what I bought at the Pub" kinda deal!
