Diesel Conversion

Hi, I have recently bought a Yamaha 165 Hp Diesel engine from a very patient man in Cornwall and I would like to put it in a sutable hull, which I presently don't own. I was thinking of approaching Keith Hart about sticking the lump in Quicksilver but there is no room in his shed to do the work.

My options are to buy a new Hull or convert an existing boat

So my question is does anybody have any experience of fitting a diesel into a hull with a transom that was designed for an Outboard.

Also does anybody know of a website or book with some relevant info or of a 7.5m Hull in need of renovation

Alan Priddy has done it (surprise, surprise!). He also knows more about the Yamaha sterndrives than just about anyone else in the country.

I don't think you'll find the information in a book, but I'm sure Alan would be happy to help.

You can document the story and I'll put it onto RIBnet, then next time someone asks, we can say "yes - here's how to do it"!

The only person I know thats done this is Alan Priddy when he convertec his 7mtr Ribtec with 2 Yam 90's on the back to the Yamaha 165 Diesel.
