Kinda strange innit governments trying to kill off diesel cars whilst encouraging their forces to switch to diesel power in their boats . One rule for us and another for them springs to mind

What is wrong with a diesel inboard, Much more reliable.
Then put a waterjet on the boat.

You've obviously never owned a high performance diesel inboard, they require way more maintenance and care and attention than an equivalent outboard

There’s a Bonita targa and a rib in the same marina as us, both with inboard diesels - owners making noises last season about ditching the inboards and retro-fitting outboards, I’m not sure if they were 100% serious or just venting their frustrations on inboard ownership!
Got to also say you see a few boats at the shows that were solely inboards but now offer outboard options..........

A mate has a 16m cat with Yanmars, he regularly has to shell £thousands out for engine/gearbox repairs & its a private pleasure boat, not a commercial.
