Donate your old motor?

I am hoping to find someone with a mid sized outboard that they no longer want for a home spun, slightly mental project I am working on.

Ideally I need to find a cowl, skeg. midsection and D bracket from any outboard made in the last 15 years. The ideal size engine is around 30 - 60HP. I already have a 4HP and don't need another tiddler smaller than this. Happy to look at bigger if you have one.

I don't need the powerhead or prop but I do need the driveshaft and gearbox. If they still spin I will be eternally grateful.

If I can get the project done I intend to donate it to a local charity so the only thing I can offer is a big thank you and a very few quid.

If you have something like that lying around and live within 80 miles of Southampton please let me know. I can collect.

It's a fountain.
I want to try and split the skeg down the centreline and show the parts inside and make the cowl a sort of spray.
The plan is to make the driveshaft and gearbox rotate in a sealed unit with LED's inside.
Told you it was a bit mad.

I'm going to take a guess that wasn't what any of us were expecting!

Outstanding! Charity for old boating freaks? Sorry, I haven’t got any engines left to donate but I wish you the best of luck - it sounds weirdly brilliant!
