Dt 65 Cyl Head

Does anyone know where I can source a second hand cylinder head for a 1988 Suzuki DT 65?

Thats a very old Suzi, so I would really do the sums before you go and spend any money on it if you can't get the compression up with a new head gasket and cheap rebuild etc. Gearbox is worth say £300 to someone who has just run aground and perhaps £100 for the rest but it might take 6 months to sell it (I sold a fully working 75hp version for £800 last year, so sorry but your not going to get £1000 for the engine as is)

How about making an offer on some of these (especially at this time of year)

That said if you really do want to repair it, try Bill Highman in Manchester, (after you have researched him on Ribnet) but I would really think about getting shut of the Suzi http://www.billhigham.co.uk/a_html/intro.htm

Finally Crayside have a damaged powerhead, but there might have been a model change between yours and theres.

That head isn't your problem then-it's obviously been running like that for quite some time. Check your top crank seal.

You saw the condition of the head in the other thread , I'm hoping to restore the engine without the risk of the damaged cyl head filling up with carbon and causing pre-ignition problems. Just looking for a cleaner cyl head.

I'll get my mech to look at the crank seal though.

It's gotta be fuel/air mix thats the problem somewhere along the line.

The only other things I can think of is badly adjusted carbs, damaged reeds or an air leak.

I'd be tempted just to stick it back together and use it til it dies rather than spend any major money on heads and stuff.
