Dt55 ptt

Hi all,

It's been a whils since i posted, everything got busy.

I can't remember if i posted about this at the time.

My PTT stopped working a few months ago for no reason, would only lift. WIll now not move at all, i can hear the motor going.

I know it's hard without knowing exactly what is wrong but is it generally an expensive fix?

Air lock I suspect. It's a long process but you need to trim all the way up, use the motor and pull up by hand, it will be heavy but should move. Take the cap off where the fluid goes and top up. Cap back on and trim down. Back up cap off and add fluid. Keep repeating it may take a whole. Eventually you will see bubbles coming out, this is air escaping. You need to keep going until it's just fluid

Hi all,

I've found the filling point, unscrewed it and it looks empty so guess not much oil if any.

I need to find the manual relief valve.

Up here in the lakes, i've tried 2 out of 3 main boay yards/chandlers and so far no PPT oil!!

Will any hydraulic oil do or does it have to be specific PPT oil?

Thanks.
