E-tec 90 HP, min. A-frame clearance ?

How much clearance do i need from the transom to the A-frame to fit a 90 HP E-tec.
Of course it's when tilting the engine up the distance is most critical.

My Suzuki Dt 65 has plenty of clearance, but no point in buying a new engine if it doesn't fit. My A-frame is designed to fit in my garage, therefore it's not so tall.

Might be worth checking wioth the dealer how the lid comes off. I too have the low frame for garage clearance, and have a finger trapping clearance between the back corner of my Merc & the frame, but as it's a clamshell, I can still get the lid off when it's down.

A conventiaonal "lift off" lid would need the engine to be tilted to get in.

I think i'll call the dealer. He could meassure it.

It's ok if the hood only comes of when it's tilted up. But if it's only tiltable without the hood it's not.
