E-TEC - imperial fasteners?

I am about to tackle the long overdue water pump change (seven years -oops ) on my E-TEC 150.

Just found a new and excellent tutorial video on Youtube based on a 2008 175hp which looks very handy but the commentary highlighted something that I hadn't previously considered - it appears that the E-TEC has all imperial fixings rather than metric? I don't have any decent sets of imperial sockets and spanners as everything else I own is metric - and it's a very long time since I even touched anything with imperial stuff so I don't recall if the equivalent metric sizes are close enough to use or not?

I don't particularly want to have to go and buy a full set of imperial tools just for a once every few years job, and I'm not even sure if they will be available off the shelf around here anyway. Comments please?

Most are close enough for a one off
3/8is a problem but 11mm=7/16 13mm=1/2 9/16 =14 but maybe tight and need to use15 11/16=17 3/4=19
That's probably all you'll need
The only one I've really found a problem with is the 3/8th and there isn't really an alternative below 3/8th the metric sockets usually fit close enough too

Find a Stilson!

3/8, file a big half a millimeter out of a 9.

Ta. Found that some of my socket sets have unused A/F sockets in them so I think most of the sizes are covered anyway, except 1/4 drive for the tight spots.

Next problem is that SWMBO seems to have tidied up my frigging workshop manual somewhere and I can't find it
