E-tec System Check Tacho

Has reset itself to zero!

My engine hours are correctly recorded on the engine (checked by engineer's pc) but the dial has gone back to zero for engine hours, fuel used etc.

Otherwise, it appears to be working normally.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Regards,

Chris.

I think this can only be done by grounding or putting 12v on one of the connections on the back. So is not easily done by accident. The unit may be knackered?
I think they have an NVM (non volatile memory) which has to be reset to zero the counter, even if if the unit is without power for months it will still retain the information. hope this helps.

I had the same problem 2 years ago. All the tellers were reseted. The engine hours remained correct in the engine.

The strange thing is, when they had to replace the engine, they could not reset the teller ...

Thanks Guys,

It worked fine last time out, about 5 weeks previously, and has not been "played with" in any way so a faulty unit does indeed look likely.

Regards,

Chris.
