Was back home by 10:30 with the new flywheel and ignition switch, both stripped down and swapped over by 12:00. Launched by 12:30 and started her up........

Firstly, no erratic stating when I wiggle the key - so new ignition switch has fixed that fault

And motor runs quiet and smooth, and no alarms - so that fault has been fixed.

I did a few runs at WOT and no trim problems, so that fault has now been fixed.

So back to 100%.

I did ask about the timing, and was told the new flywheel won't need timing adjustment, out of all the ones they have done timing has never been an issue.
Great news Steve

I also like to try solving my own engine problems however there is nothing worse when a problem starts to drag on and on!!!

I haven't done anything at anger, only got an engine test for about 30 mins, this included a bit of everything and no alarms, and now I don't have the foil rubbing it seems a lot quieter.

Great news. It's always satisfying when you do the fault-finding and subsequently effect your own repair, usually saving yourself a bundle....

I could tell that your ring was twitching ever so slightly last week though!
