Thanks for your feedback!

It had sufficient water flow from tell-tale + exhaust on power up. Half of the muffs came off for 12 seconds, still remained pumping water throughout via the starboard intake.

Still shows its a genuine upload warts n all -ie not re-done to cover any failings or flaws...

Peeing at idle is fine, sounds great and with punch and if already passed to 30 HP much better. A nice uncomplicated well made engine easy to service.

Happy Boating

I am sure the motor is fine, but the tell tail is week for some reason, especially when the engine is reved, compared to my yamaha 20hp 2005 that is. Tohatsu 's are my favourate motors, very well made....

The 6 seconds it takes to produce a tell tail on the second start up tells a story......

Half muffs equals some water going into first muff, granted...

Second hand engine, running well, a 10 impeller is just a service item after all.

If that was put in a tank that would pump fine typical hose syndrome that

It's had a replacement impeller. It's just loose muffs and the tell-tale angle (pointing down rather than out). It pumps very well in person but like I said I appreciate you taking the time to post it up here and give your feedback.

Must say my tohatsu pumps more than that at idle on muffs, but mine is low hours maybe that if the impeller has been changed.

Bear in mind that there might be low water pressure, water lose through muffs, prop, rear middle leg and strainer under cav plate and other small areas as well. Runing on barrel or at sea, it's a different story. If it's an issue, a 10 new impeller will make peeing look like a teenager again.

Happy Boating

Ill stick it in a bucket just for you, then you'll see it pumping like you feel it should.

Had this myself with muffs, gave them away with my last boat !! Always stick them in a tub now plus have a plastic 45 gallon drum with a hole cut in the side for the big engines on the boat.

We normally use these for the bigger ones but it was all i had to had. Usually when this happens I just stick a bungee around them which gives a tighter seal but we had the engine on a stand rated to 20hp so it was more important to keep it steady, didn't have another to hand and TBH I didn't think it'll cause such debate, guess that's Ribnet for you though

To close the thread I will get another clip done when I get chance.
