Your results are broadly in line with my experience.... on a SIB around 3.5-4.0m going 15-20hp only gains 1-2kts on top end... but will help mid-range pickup when 4-up.

Yep it comes down to the personal choice of £400ish and loss of warranty for 1-2kts on top speed.

BTW what was your prop pitch and what other pitch did you try?

You guys should play with prop pitches all you want, but with an induction tach installed for that purpose. OB's runs on min and max wot rpm range factory stated which varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Wild guessing, ear tach propping is no bueno, each boat and load should have a motor running to at least middle of its wot rpm range, but most likes to prop for max wot rpm range.
