Electric Start
Hi
have a yamaha 40hp 2 stroke autolube with pull cord start,can i fit electric starter and how much would this cost,also power tilt and trim would be nice any idears

Not that difficult a job but bear in mind yamaha outboard starter motors are over £350+vat!
so try and find a used one!!

I'd sniff around for an electric start motor with PTT, but otherwise in poor order, so you could salvage the parts and fit them to yours. Given the reliability of 3 cyl Yams, you may be have a problem finding one. Given the age of your motor, it may be time to consider an upgrade to something newer with PTT and E/S?
To buy the parts, even second hand would probably cost more than the value of the motor!

I priced PTT as an add-on for a 2002 Honda 40; the hydraulic pump and pistons alone were over $600US. Kinda killed that idea pretty quick.
