Any lightweight, 3 cylinder, 2 stroke, long shaft, such as Yamaha or Tohatsu, a 30hp will be ok, a 40hp will be great but a 50hp will be mental! Also PTT is a good idea.
There's a few Yamahas about at the moment but normally they are few and far between, there’s also a 40ph E-tec on ebay if you're in the money

Hi I have a Yam 50hp 2st which is great with PTT, my brother-in-law has a 40hp 2st without PTT & I can only just out run him, fuel used is very similar!

I used to have a mariner 60hp 2 stroke on my 4m searider & it went well with 4 divers onboard. But it would be fine with any 40hp? Good fuel consumption etc & plane easily if propped right?

I've got a 30hp Yam 2 stroke on mine, with PTT, and it's fine.

The Yammie 40V and 50G 2-stroke (3 carb) models were identical except for different carbs and larger exhaust manifold. A few Yamaha 40hp 2-strokes come on the market but the 50hp are quite rare, especially with PTT, a damn good engine.

I have a Merc 50 hp. 2 stroke, with pt&t. on mine. Stonking bit of kit. Not always had pt&t on mind, I converted it myself, it's great.

40 hp Mariner on mine at present. Planes 6 up. a flier with one in.
Fuel consumption is pretty good only 30 litres a day fast cruising the lenght of the menai straights. Yamaha 50 does the same slightly better but adds about 8 to 10 litres of fuel used.

they make excellent fishing boats, very stable ideal for drifting for bass and mackerel, have used her in winter for the cod anchored but you do tend to get blown around by the wind but very stable in the water
