I have a 1997 Mariner 90hp 2 stroke in-line 3 that I need new pistons for, I've been asked for the engine number which I've been told should be d283222 or later, problem is I dont see any numbers anything like that on the engine block, the only number I can find is 876-8946-C11 can anyone give me an idea where to find the number?? dont say on the paperwork as I have none

It will be on the port side of the transom bracket and should start 09,
Also repeated on the powerhead core plug on that age, or sticker on newer ones

That's fine if that's the one I'll need, I knew about them, I was expectong to find a number similar to the one I was asked for, I'll cross reference the one on the bracket with th one I saw on the core plug, thanks for your swift reply

just out of interest the picture on the rightis an ex M.O.D. obm,(the hose up the back of the leg) ,I might even have given it its final check before leaving barrus. That age of obm the 75/90hp every thing is the same apart from the carbs and some maybe later the g/h ratios. I have always liked the 75/90hp obm a joy to work on.

Indeed it was. We got it already fitted to a tatty old Wilson flyer 17. The engine was quite unusual as its cover was de-badged of all its decals from new, never fitted.
We've had a few with the extra fittings

I'd have thought that age will be 09, if its on your core an the same on the transom I'd have thought that's the correct one to use for parts
