Engine oil for KAD32?

I'm 90 miles from home where my manuals and receipts from last service are...

Does anyone know what oil best suits the KAD32?
I think I used part-synthetic last time, but don't know what Xw-XX rating...
And what's the capacity? I think its 7.5l (Will be changing filter too)
Does anyone know what oil best suits a KAD32 in our climate, as i'd like to get oil this week. Cheers

Got the volvo manual online, just incase anyone wants to know

Engine holds 9l with an oil filter change

Volvo recommends SAE 15w-40

re kad 32

hi
i had a Kad 32 in a 7.5 mt rib and used 10/40 diesel engine oil, same as in my 4x4diesel car
when i had a service at newark marina(volvo penta dealers) they used the same oil,
you will need 2x 5 lts cans of oil though
bought a pump to take the oil out of the dip stick pipe (best thing i ever got)

also check the dip stick for the supercharger, its a nut ( under the nut is the dip stick)on top of the supercharger i only used the volvo penta oil for this though

thanks

Still running the Lema then. No luck with the £40-£45k rib for the long haul?

Hey stepheneyre,
This will be the 3rd service since I bought her. I just didn't have the details of what oil I needed. She takes 9l so you're right about the 2 x 5l and keep 1l spare. Luckilly engine oil hasnt dropped on the dipstick since I changed oil last (I dont think the KADs burn oil anyhow)

I aggee about those oil pumps, I bought a Sealy one and theyre great. Excellent for getting gunge out of the bilge too... anything really

I also agree about the supercharger oil. I was advised to only use the Volvo stuff (Damn expensive) but the bottle you get will last 2 services (250ml bottle, supercharger only holds 100ml)

Happy days!
