Engine Servicing...How Much???!!!

Been quoted £244 plus VAT for a standard service of a Yamaha F100. I think that's steep even in 2008. How much would you expect to pay?

What does a standard service include? water pump kit, new plugs, gearcase oil change?

Sounds about right, I paid 600 for the pair of my 115s a couple of years ago

I paid £250 + vat for a 100 hour service so i suppose its about right
Trouble is they have you by the B-olcks if you don't have it serviced by the Yamaha dealer. the warranty is void.
The more i think of it, it dose seam a lot for what they do.

Sounds expensive to me. I paid £272 last year including parts/ labour, VAT and a cambelt change. F100 same as yours, Yamaha agent.

The Boat Shop in Rainham, Essex (probably a little to far for you to travel!)

Ours was £300 all in plus a new thermostat and some other bits, will check if cam belt changed.

I think the open thermostat was what caused the "making oil" thing, no hard evidence though, we are going to keep an eye on it do oil analysis more regularly.
