Thanks, I have also just thought about an old laptop I may be able to lay my hands on (probably only running Win 3.1 so may not work) which would have the port I don't need already built in

I seem to recall from somewhere that it asks for a Comms port selection to be made - a POP anyways.
Incidentally, the same software that you don't have monitors the run in period and the adjusted oil delivery and keeps a great record of running revs and temperatures etc. It also can be used to directly control the "winterisation" routine, which is a plus.

You might find that if you had the software (which you don't roight ) you can also print out history reports of the engine that can be used to diagnose faults from afar, hopefully something you wont need but might find useful.
Heres one I did not make earlier

Very interesting, ta
(sorry I meant not interesting... )
How did you manage to get 7000rpm?
Is there a list published anywhere of all the fault codes that can be stored in the EMM and what they mean? I see one there which like many fault codes on engine ECUs is as clear as mud...

£99.99 they're having a laff!!
Careful which you buy, some don't work with the Evinrude software. The ones based on the "prolific" chipset work fine, £20 quid from Maplins

Good grief, they must have been on the sauce since - they were something like £3.99 when I made the link...
PS I see we joined FIBnet at the same time. You need to work up those posts a bit ;-)

Yeah, Productive Posting, I'd say. Let's think of him as a Sleeper Agent, gleaning vital information on the Other Side of the Pond while I blather away on FIBnet

Steve, which version of the software don't you have? If your engine is a 2010 you will need v4.5 minimum. If it's a 2011 you need v4.6 otherwise it won't talk to the engine

It says 2.0.1.2 in the About menu? but that would presumably be years out of date so maybe no use
I think the engine is 2010 but if they have released 11MY then it could be - it was ordered and delivered some time in July I think. There were some delays getting the engine which could have been caused by the new model year coming through at least that usually happens with cars.
Any idea where I couldn't get a later version of the software from?
Ta
