Etec rev counter not working

Hi. I have a 2006 Evinrude Etec 90. i've just started it after winterization. everything is good but the rev counter isn't working. the 4 check lights are working fine though.
Have i missed something after the winterization process?? it worked fine in the autumn?
Any answers / suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Probably stuck from being stood over the winter, might have got a bit of damp in it.

Did you manage to fix this? My identical engine (age, size etc) has exactly the same problem after the winter.... also, just been serviced...

Hi Stuart. I'm 'hoping' to fix it. The main advice i've had, which has happenned to other owners, is that the gauge gets damp over the winter. I'm going to remove the gauge and put it in the airing cupboard for a week!!
Pretty technical i know!!!!
I'll let you k ow for sure if it works.
Thanks
Simon

I needed another 10mtr boat in a hurry.... Both flywheels broke up within a week of each other destroying the stators. A matched pair of xl 200 with all controls etc will be for sale very shortly. This is all after the previous owner had just spent near £2k on services as both water pipes had eaten away. Fully sorted and in everday use. I can tell you want them, I will even deliver them, just say when!

Thanks for all the replies.

I have tried everything suggested and still no luck. I suspect the guage is faulty...

Checking the voltage on the grey wire shows an increase in volts when the revs are increased but I was unable to measure in the required hertz...

Don't remember what the reading was unfortunately but it did increase as the revs did.

Any more suggestions?

Finally, am I stuck with using the gauge only going forward? Does anyone have a spare by any chance?!

thanks

Stuart
