Etec Spark plug change

Hey Guys

I get an infrequent miss on start up sometimes, particularly after sitting in the wet for a while, which clears on powering up and warm up, and its never really been a problem. Its a 4 year old 90 thats done very little work, so I thought I'd change the plugs for a set of the same to see if that helps. On research I see they need 'indexed' and torqued within a certain range which isnt a problem .. just checking if theres any special tips on the job ?

cheers

There are tips out there for this - I forget where. Basically you have to ensure the bu@@gers stop turning at the correct position - so if the first one fails to do so, you keep it for the next pot, etc. Tipex the orientation on the outside of the plug. Years since I did it and I forget everything before last Tuesday.

Re the 90 - make absolutely sure it NEVER has a dodgy battery connection - fatal and expensive EMM failure follows....

Hi, when they install the spark plug they use spacer (if needed) to make sure that the side electrode (ground electrode) do not interfere with the atomised fuel from the fuel injector. Correct position is when the side electrode is at the opposite side of the fuel injector.
