I own a Honda and I have owned 2 E-tecs. The Honda is nice enough but give me an E-tec over a 4 stroke any day.

If they are looked after they will last for years. Qinquari fit dozens of them to commercial boats and regularly see 2000 hours plus out of an engine.

think about the 2nd hand value.

Yam / Honda / Suzi with 400 hours is just run amd we see the yams and honda still under warranty for commercial guys with over 3,000 hours with some Honda's as many as 5000 still under the 2 year commercial warranty.

That is a shocking/ amazing 6.5 x longer for the Honda.

the fuel is around 20% worse than the Honda.

then remember they need to be set up by a dealer even when 2nd hand.

so this is why I said great engines when new and terrible 2nd hand which is reflected in their 2nd hand value.

Dave
ps I would be gutted if my customers did not insist on me going out with them and hope to clock up another 200+ hours this year
