Evinrude 4hp - fuel pump issue

Hi,
Having made up my new fuel line and after lots of rope tugging and snorting ether I've got my little Evinrude 4hp Yachtwin running. However it seems to be squirting fuel out of a vent on the fuel pump, has anyone got any advice/knowledge before I start to dismantle it??
Thanks in advance.

If so it sounds like you got the primer bulb fitted the wrong way thus when your pumping the primer your pressurising the fuel tank and fuel is being forced out the vent

No, squirting out of a small vent on the fuel pump.
The primer bulb is definitely fitted correctly.
I suspect that the fuel pump diaphragm has stretched over time, it's just a question of whether I rebuild the pump or fit a cheap replacement pump I suppose.

I don't think they have an air vent on the pump, they are a pain to rebuild have a look on leeroys ramblings Web site it's very helpful personally I would buy a new one

Fuel pump diaphram is very easy to change, I would try that next, videos on how to on YouTube. Your kit will problem come as a multi kit to fit a selection of pumps.
