Clever people, please help!

I have an '81 70hp el70cim on my rib. The magneto has overheated/melted but the engine is running as well as ever.
I have the possibility of buying an el70cte full engine to use either as donor or using mine ad donor for it.
Are they compatible?

SHould be if they're a similar age. The powerhead will probably swap over if you need it to anyway.
