Evinrude e-tec 60hp - which prop??

I have a 2008 E-tec 60hp on a Ribcraft 4.8 and would like to get a new prop.

Currently she is running 30knots @ 6100 rpm with the 13.5" x 15" Aluminium Stock Prop.

Optimum rev range is 5600 to 5750 I believe.

Im thinking same BRP Aluminium prop either:

13.25" x 17"
13.2" x 19"

What do people recommend - my local E-tec dealer says 17 and DEF not 19....

I will keep the 15" for skiing as it has lots of torque!

Ideally I wouldnt mind borrowing the two BRP props above to try them out...anyone?

Any advice would be great

Many thanks

Gareth

e-tec prop

I went through a great deal of trouble on this subject on my 06' 40hp e-tec. I ended up getting the best answers, experience and help by calling Powertech direct. I have seen several test by magazines and the Powertechs were always first or 2nd in hole shot, mid range AND top speed.

I have an aluminum POS 14x17 and get 27mph in decent rolling ocean waters on my 2006 AB 390 VST, no trim, 6000rpm

I get 33mph trimmed at 6,600rpms.

I use it for surf riding.

I am not going to spend $400 on a stainless but if I had the money as my current prop is pretty decent. I would go with their stainless 3 blade, 13x15 or in that range if I were to part with $ right now. (I don't care much about top speed, as anything over 25 becomes "unpleasant" for any length of time in the blue water.)

I have found most shops imbeciles and liars when coming to propping a RIB. Powertech has experience outfitting rescue RIBS in various countries.

Michigan Wheel has a good fitment guide for their props for the E-tec as well. I have talked to propeller shops who say the Powertech and Apollo's are best made.

Raker seems to be notorious for crap hole shot on every article I've read.

I would never buy a BRP prop. They just don't come out anywhere but mediocre in any test I've seen. "Also-rans."
