Evinrude ficht 75

Can anyone tell me if the Evinrude 75 fichts can be upgraded to 90 or 115 hp?? without changing the engines!!!

As far as I can workout, the blocks, pistons etc are all the same , with the exeption of the ECU's and the cam that operates the butterflys on the throttle bodys.

I am getting conflicting reports if it can be done or not...naturaly the offical dealers are saying NO, but I think it can be done.

Does anyone have access to to part number and digrams of the engines??? and could I get my gready hands on a copy!!!

You are correct, Richard, Andy Clarke, in my opinion is the best outboard/rib engineer in the word! (Bosuns Mate). He is one of the old school, that is, he does things PROPERLY. A call to him would be the best move you can ever make.

I Had 2 Of Them !!!

I wanted to 'up' the power as well to 90 or 115 , But the problem is that the porting is different on the engines , so you would have to change the Barrels, ECU ( through DFI, as they are £1000 new) and the throtle bodies, as a start , and I cant remember if the pistons are different or not ... but anyway its cheeper to sell the 75 and buy a 90 or 115 ....... for All things Eninrude , log on to www.boatsetup.com and go to the Evinrude fourm , there is a couple of guys on her that work with Evinrude , and what they dont know, you could right on the back of a stamp !!!!! , buy your spark plugs through www.sparkplugs.com €5 instead of €18 over here....

Great engines , we had over 1000hrs between 2 of them !!!!
