Evinrude OB, what's it worth

Hi All,

Newbie here so please be gentle. Looking to buy my first rib. One I'm keen on has a 2012 Evinrude 250 on that has never been serviced so no warranty left and only 30 hours on it. Should I be concerned about it or just get it serviced if I buy it. The current owner doesn't want to service it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

As Above, get it plugged in (should cost about £50). I'm assuming it's an E-Tec? If it's all good, I'd check the magnets on the flywheel for corrosion and see if it has had the pressure relief modificstion done as these are known to fail. Service should cost about £600 (from memory).

Regards

Steve
