Evinrude - water in fuel damage

I am looking for recommendations on the best place to have an Evinrude 40hp outboard repaired after suffering damage from water in the fuel. The boat is based in Largs marina so ideally would prefer suggestions for the south west of Scotland.

Many thanks

You obviously don't fancy DDZ so why not try Mitchell's in Renfrew they're Ev dealers but are good engineers on all OB's

Yes Mitchells is high on the list but thought it prudent to see if there was any other reputable repairer out there considering the cost (and time) it will take to effect a repair.

Thanks very much guys.

While it is being repaired install a Racor spin-on Series Fuel Filter/Water Separator.

I use the S3227 filters for my 85hp Yamaha engines.

+1 for the Racor. I don't know if the 40hp will take it, but there is a retro fit water separating filter kit for the Etecs which fits under the cowl & plugs into the EMM to give you an alarm if water is detected in the fuel. In theory the alarm goes off before the water gets to the engine. I have the Racors in the console at the fuel tank end & the BRP ones at the engine end, belt & braces.
